Update need opinions (November 21, 2007)
I'm currently working on a total rewrite of cEditMX since it was rather buggy.
The new version has a very solid start so far. The hang up is I'm tyring to descide
which editing component to use with it. I have 2 options. Scintilla and SynEdit.
SynEdit's advantages are faster load time, no external DLL since it's a native VCL,
support for Spell Check.
Scintilla's big advantage is Code Folding Support.
SynEdit does have a version with some code folding support however it is somewhat buggy
and though I would include it, it would be strictly optional.
I need to know what you guys think so just use this poll to answer your opinions. Thanks
Stewart
cEditMX
For those of you who don't know cEditMX is a free and opensource text
editor, designed to a large degree to be used as a
source code editing tool. It provides Syntax Highlighting for quite
a few common languages, and some not so common languages,
code folding, Find in Files, support to access and use
an external compiler, a heavily customizable interface, and
much more.
It currently is the largest and most complex application
I've written to date.
